HPHD Furthers Design Efforts with the VA

Department of Veterans Affairs Martinsburg, West Virginia Community Living Center ExpansionAs the Department of Veterans Affairs continues its efforts to provide patient-centered or “veteran-centered” care, Huelat Parimucha has teamed with District Veterans Contracting, Inc to expand a Community Living Center (CLC) at the Martinsburg, WV Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

This partnership addresses patient needs for Geriatric/Long-Term Care Service.  Huelat Parimucha’s knowledge and expertise of Planetree philosophy will be incorporated into the Cultural Transformation initiatives established to further daily operations throughout the CLC.  These initiatives represent a unique collaborative effort between nursing home providers, clinicians, architects and designers to design and build CLCs centered on residents and their daily lives and care.  All involved in this effort strongly believe that the actual design itself contributes to the well being and positive outcomes of care in such facilities- a belief that has been the foundation of all Huelat Parimucha designs since the firm opened over 19 years ago.

District Veterans Contracting and HPHD are working together to provide private resident rooms for veterans who require long term care, along with in-room access to medical information, pharmacy support, ceiling lifts, and adequate space for patient and medical provider consultations.  In addition, the overall aesthetics will be enhanced to include better lighting, artwork and accessories.  This work strives to refine daily operations and increase staff efficiency to create a home-like environment for the residents and improve their overall outcomes.
